The Accountant, Accounting Operations who is primarily responsible for supporting the Senior Financial Accounting Manager in the timely and accurate completion of internal financial functions and reports including Balance Sheet and Bank reconciliations, Asset Management, update of lease expense forecast as well as month-end journals and utility accrual control.

Responsibilities

Work as an effective team member and assist to achieve the key objectives for the Finance Department at APAC.

Complete / execute allocated APAC Balance Sheet reconciliations, month-end journals (including accruals, tenancy accruals and asset maintenance including WIP).

Maintenance of the Asset Register.

In partnership with Real Estate team, management of assets WIP account ensuring all assets are correctly allocated to each real estate project.

Creation and Maintenance of Tenancy forecast and monthly accruals (working with our Financial Services Centre in the US).

Manage, analyse and report on Corporate Credit Card expenditure. Timely and accurate execution of the Accounts Receivable function for APAC including the raising of invoices and the follow up of aged invoices.

Financial reporting – US and Local.

In partnership with Supply Chain Team, ensuring the freight forecast is correctly updated on weekly basis.

Assist in the preparation of 3-year operating expense plans and weekly forecasting in accordance with Corporate timelines and guidelines.

Demonstrate the ability to work as an effective team member. Provide valuable operational advice and functional support to all internal (local and international) and external ‘customers’.

To monitor and adhere to the relevant legislative, regulatory, licensing, insurance, ethical, corporate governance and industry standards for corporate & retail entities in Asia Pacific.

Monitor emerging issues, trends, opportunities and best practice innovations in the Finance / industry and to recommend and implement improved controls, procedures and systems for the APAC Division.

Comply with all internal control procedures and SOX requirement and improve (SOX) internal controls and process flowcharts when necessary.

Translating regulatory and business changes into accurate and complete accounting.

Ensuring processes are properly documented and that the documentation is maintained.

Continuous assessment of performance efficiency and profit improvement opportunities.

Qualifications

Accounting / Business Certification or Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting

3-5 years related work experience

Fluent in English (verbal & written)

Advanced MS Excel skills

Potential to grow within the finance discipline

Clear and effective communications skills

Flexible and open to new ideas

Leadership skills

Team player with service-oriented attitude
