Overview:Position Objective:
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing Accounts Payable, employee reimbursements, 1099’s, and bank and account reconciliations, as scheduled for the organization in order to provide accurate financial accounting and reporting in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.

The Accounts Payable Clerk is aNon-Ministerialposition.Non-ministerialstaff serve in operational and service support roles and are not required to personally affirm MHA’s Christian mission, vision and beliefs. However, it is expected that staff who fill these roles – no matter their personal beliefs – respect, work in harmony with, and not undermine MHA’s Christian mission, vision and beliefs.
All staff are expected to join gatherings, which includes prayer, worship, and Bible-centered teaching.
Key Job Accountabilities:

Process all vendor invoices & statements, check requests, and employee reimbursements to maintain all accounts payable and vendor databases.

Liaise with all vendors to reconcile any statement or other discrepancies pertaining to invoices, credits, and payments.

Liaise with Kidder Creek staff to process Accounts Payable.

Export / Import data from Vendor programs into Accounting Software, egConcur Reimbursements and Amazon Invoices.

Prepare and process all yearly vendor tax information through Forms 1099 and 1098.

Assist with reconciliations and reports for the annual audit.

Prepare accounting entries and government reports for uncashed checks.

Monitor and order office supplies for the organization.

Assist with cash deposits as required.

Reconcile vault cash weekly.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:Education/Certifications/Licenses:

Minimum of one college-level basic accounting course.

College degree in Accounting or Business preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Work Experience:

Experience with integrated accounting software systems.

Experience in such general accounting processes as accounts payable, accounts receivable and/or other related accounting functions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision.

Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

Skill to use a personal computer and various software packages

Ability to work with current Excel spreadsheets and/or create new spreadsheets based on needs.

Ability to learn multiple software programs with relative ease.

Physical Demands:

The physical environment requires the employee sit at a desk and computer for long periods. The primary job responsibilities involve long hours of data entry. In addition, there may be occasional standing, squatting, stooping, and twisting. Possible occasional ability to lift/carry up to 20 lb. boxes for short distances.

Additional Requirements :

May be requested to work overtime for occasional deadlines during high volume seasons such as audit.

Ability to maintain confidentiality in regards to all areas encountered in the job.
