Applied Analytics Manager, Finance Data and Analytics Job at Google – 4.3 in Chicago, IL

Minimum qualifications:
14 years of experience working in data analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, or similar.

People management experience.

Experience with key financial systems (e.g., Oracle/Hyperion and SAP), and working with other business intelligence tools and platforms.

Experience with SQL.

Preferred qualifications:
Broad knowledge of and experience with financial systems and concepts.

Familiarity with analytics methods/theory (statistics, ML, etc.), data programming libraries (Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn etc) and ability to identify opportunities to apply these.

Excellent stakeholder management skills including expectation setting, education, conflict management, prioritization, etc.

Ability to thrive in environments with multiple senior cross-functional stakeholders with competing agendas by bringing people together to achieve a common goal keeping overall interests in mind.

About the job

As part of the Finance Data and Analytics team, you will use data to inform business and product decisions across the company. Using your technical skills, business acumen, and creativity, you will build data warehouses/data marts, automate reporting, and generate insights to enable Finance to quickly and accurately see how our key businesses and processes are performing. You’ll be involved in projects from inception to delivery, ensuring that your data solutions deliver relevant high-quality data and insights to intelligently grow our business.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of highly talented data professionals working across a variety of areas.

Develop the Finance data strategy for several business areas, partnering closely with finance leaders and their teams, creating a roadmap and delivering solutions that fit their evolving needs.

Partner with Engineering teams to operationalize/scale data solutions and improve Google’s business intelligence and analytics platforms, such as querying, reporting, and analytics tools.

Lead multiple Finance-level priorities from the Finance Business Intelligence and Analytics side.

Play an active role in our team’s leadership team, taking initiative to execute on our mission, prioritize work, make tradeoffs, manage conflicts, and constantly push the team to grow and evolve.
