Our client, Marine Repair Services Inc., is hiring aChief Financial Officerin their Charleston, South Carolina office. This strategic position will be a part of a $230 million organization overseeing a Controller and Accounting Department consisting of approximately 10-15 accounting staff. This role reports directly to the Executive Vice President.

Responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:

Oversees all financial controls and reporting functions, including treasury, tax, budgeting, cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and payroll

Leads the organization with administration of policies and operation of all financial activities including accounting, financial analysis, and strategic planning

Leads all tactical financial planning and projections

Serves on the leadership team to formulate strategy and processes

Responsible for management reporting and creation of business management metrics.

Apprises management of the Company’s financial position and issues periodic reports on the Company’s financial stability, liquidity and growth

Oversees annual audits/reviews with external accountants

Ensures that effective internal controls are in place and reporting is in compliance with United States and applicable country-based regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.

Analyzes operational issues impacting functional groups and the Company, determines their financial impact and partners with business units within the Company to address and improve overall performance

Assists functional leaders in preparation & implementation of strategic operating plans.

Assist with the establishment and implementation of short and long range departmental metrics, goals, objectives, policies and determination of operating benchmarks

Set priorities and goals for the team, perform staff performance evaluations, and provide training to staff

Develop processes and business partner relationships with internal and external groups that will improve the flow of financial information within the company.

Keep current with industry changes

Assist ownership in advanced financial planning and managing profitability

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required

Minimum 10-15 years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, with the last 3-5 years as CFO

Five or more years of supervisory experience required

Experience working in a large multi-entity environment

Ability to research generally accepted accounting principles and the ability to apply GAAP to new and existing transactions. Must have knowledge of accounting concepts and procedures and the ability to apply to daily activities.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced in Excel

Excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to recruit and develop talent and motivate team to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects

Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast paced and growth oriented environment

Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule

Preferred Qualifications

CPA License or on track to obtain

MBA and/or CPA highly desired
