Our client (the “Company”) is a leading manufacturer of advanced glass yarns that are used as reinforcing materials in numerous diverse, high-value applications, including aircraft laminates, ballistic armor, engine systems, pressure vessels, roofing membranes and specialty electronics. The Company is focused on serving end-markets that require glass fibers for applications with demanding performance criteria, such as aerospace, defense, construction, electronics, automotive and industrial manufacturing industries.
In recent years, the Company has transformed itself from a provider of basic technical fibers to higher performance, advanced materials, maintaining a focus on making customers’ products lighter, thinner, faster and stronger. Our client maintains its worldwide leadership role with the establishment of unique manufacturing platforms that enable its proprietary, niche products to be rapidly tailored to specific customer needs.
The Company is the only U.S.-based specialty glass yarn manufacturer, and maintains its headquarters, manufacturing facilities and central science and technology center in Aiken, South Carolina. The Company employs approximately 1,100 people globally, with commercial and administrative offices in Europe (Lyon, France) and a network of agents and distributors throughout Asia Pacific.
Townsend Search Group has been engaged by the Company’s Board of Directors to identify qualified candidates to assume the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The CFO will provide overall direction and financial leadership to the Company while playing a significant role in the future growth and development of the business. The CFO will report to the CEO and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the Company. The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the Company. This includes all accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic accounting, revenue recognition, inventory management planning, job costing, lease management, compliance, and institutional financing.
Provide leadership and coordination in business planning, accounting, and budgeting efforts as well as the continuous evaluation of short-term and long-term strategic financial objectives
Ensure credibility of the Company’s finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts
Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance, Accounting, Tax, Treasury and FP&A functions of the organization
Work with the lending institution to manage cash needs, the Company’s lending relationship, and ensure compliance with all debt covenants
Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities, to include budgeting, tax planning, and conservation of assets
Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities
Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
