Your role

Please note that this is a temporary position for 1 year.

As Collection Officer, your responsibility is to process AR transactions and related to AR, mainly the collection of overdue invoices and NSF cheques, from various debtors so that the Corporation receives any amounts owed to it.

To this end, you will review the status of debtor accounts to determine amounts due, in light of payment methods, contractual agreements, the status of billing adjustments, payment applications, clearings and reconciliations, etc. Drawing on your expertise and judgment, you will recommend various collection alternatives based on current practices.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:
College diploma in a relevant field (e.g., administration)

One (1) or more years’ experience performing AR related duties

Proven client service skills and experience

Good knowledge of Word and Excel

SAP knowledge or experience with a computerized financial management system

Knowledge of general accounting concepts

Bilingualism (spoken and written) is a must

Ability to work without supervision, as well as show initiative and resourcefulness

Ability to manage stress effectively and work to tight deadlines

Highly developed interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy

Willing to work occasional overtime
