Commercial Finance Analyst

The Commercial Finance Analyst’s role is (i) to partner with the business streams to ensure that sales & profit are optimized and effectively managed and (ii) to have a key role in driving the analysis of future project efforts, including new customers, ventures, or products. The analyst will drive analyses pertaining to (i) sales and margin management, (ii) capital investments, and (iii) project due diligence for all levels of management. Responsibilities include forecasts and analysis of revenue, operating expenses, capital investments; decision support for product opportunities using information obtained from multiple systems or cross functional departments; and ad hoc analysis for strategic goals.

Key Position Responsibilities

Partner with Sales team to forecast and analyze revenue, volume, pricing, and profit.

Compile and analyze financial reports to enable daily commercial management with continuous focus to improve KPIs and processes that enhance decision support for growth of both revenue and profit.

Develop Return on Invested Capital and Return on Sales analysis that enable informed decisions, progress monitoring versus baseline, and improve assumptions for future analytics.

Drive project financial modeling, due diligence, and financial tracking against targets.

Contribute to corporate strategic planning and the annual operating plan through long term operating and capital forecasts.

Promote winning culture through focus on corporate values and productive partnerships within department and across all other business functions.

Prepare analyses and reports for presentations to executive leadership and company’s board of directors.

Organize and maintain performance metrics for contribution to company’s integrated business planning process.

Maintain data repositories for executive reporting.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field

Master’s degree, MBA or CPA preferred

3+ years of accounting or finance experience (commercial, project, or M&A finance) in analytical roles

Proficiency with ERP financial processes, spreadsheets or business intelligence software should be at an intermediate level

Must be a self-starter with demonstrated skills in meeting deadlines

Solid finance acumen with advance skills in understanding financial statements and executing business analytics to identify variances and trends

Effective with communication, business partnering, and presenting to senior leaders
