About the Team

Despite COVID-19, RDA’s operations in Australia are growing rapidly and we are seeking a Contracts Specialist to join us during this exciting and dynamic time. You will report to the Commercial Manager and join a collaborative team of commercial managers, subcontract managers, legal consultants and administrators.

About the role

As the Contracts Specialist you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

Building and maintaining effective relationships with the project team and CASG;

Provide advice and assistance to LAND 400 Phase 2 project managers on all contracting and other commercial activities including the identification of opportunities for revenue enhancement, schedule relief and claim avoidance;

Interface and work with LAND 400 Phase 2 colleagues in Germany and assist with administering and amending intercompany agreements related to LAND 400 Phase 2;

Assist with the drafting and negotiating Contract Change Proposals (CCPs);

Notify subcontract managers of any changes under the Prime Contract that may impact contracts with suppliers;

Manage and administer the Prime Contract in accordance with RDA policies and procedures;

Support the identification, preparation and negotiation of Survey and Quotes (S&Qs) in accordance with requirements and obligations of the Prime Contract;

Develop and maintain Prime Contract compliance and risk register;

Actively mitigate the risk of contractual claims and manage claims;

Promote commercial guidance, prepare procedures for contract administration and contribute to the Legal and Commercial training program by assisting with the preparation of contract training modules; and

Assist with proposals and the review of tenders for new business and general contracting.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

Tertiary qualification preferably in Business, Engineering, Finance or Law;

Demonstrated experience in proposal development, contract and/or subcontract negotiation, contracts management and administration experience;

High attention to detail and excellent contract drafting skills;

The ability to contribute and deliver a strong and collaborative customer focus culture;

Can-do attitude and solutions orientated;

Demonstrated leadership capability and experience;

Strong interpersonal communication, consultation and negotiation skills;

Excellent organisational management skills and ability to be adapt to changing priorities; and

Be eligible for an Australian Government Security Clearance and have the capacity to satisfy pre-employment screening.

Highly desirable for this position:
Experience working on ASDEFCON or Australian Government programs and projects.
