Director, Accounting & Finance Job at Evotec – 3.5 in Princeton, NJ
This position has shared responsibility in creating the strategies for sustainable growth in all key metrics as well as responsibility for daily financial governance and operations. He/she will provide oversight of all financial activities for all US operations with the exception of Just-Evotec Biologics. These financial activities include accounting and controlling, financial and tax reporting, budgeting, financial planning/forecasting, payroll, cash/treasury, and analysis/decision support. As the company continues to make acquisitions, integration will also be a key responsibility.
Reports to: VP, Head of Finance – Evotec (US) Inc.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibility for all Finance and Accounting activities for the US entities excluding Just-Evotec Biologics, Inc. This includes Evotec (US) Inc. and Cyprotex US, LLC. and their respective sites which are located on the East and West Coast of the US.
Areas of responsibility include:
Accounting according to US GAAP and IFRS including preparation of local financial statements and all regulatory requirements
Tax compliance / declarations
Payroll and 401k Administration
P&L responsibility for sites performance and legal entities
Cash management and local Treasury activities
Preparation of budgets and quarterly forecasts
Project and cost accounting
Analysis and financial reporting (Monthly, Quarterly, Full Year)
Business Partner for operations in terms of all economic considerations e.g. investments, business cases, valuations for US business, due diligence, etc.
Integration of finance activities for acquisitions
Supervision of all Finance/Accounting personnel in Princeton, NJ.
Bachelor’s degree required in accounting or finance; advanced degree preferred.
Ten or more years of experience in a senior level finance and accounting role
Three or more years of experience in a biotech, biologics or drug development/discovery services company preferred. Experience in a global, European company preferred.
CPA or alternative management accountant certification preferred.
Significant experience in acquisition integration.
Proven skills in finance, including flexibility in approach to problem solving and the ability to push beyond the obvious to find innovative solutions.
Strong analytical and financial skills (accounting, controlling) including experience in areas such as market share analysis or financial statement review.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the organizational agility to influence performance at all levels to deliver results.
Ability to quickly build collaborative relationships, credibility, trust, and respect with individuals at all levels within the organization.
Ability to learn and adapt to new business models, systems, and processes.
Experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
Demonstrated ability to see the big picture and provide guidance and strategic advice across the company as part of the senior management team.
Strong business acumen and operational understanding.
Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance for a publicly traded company.
Working knowledge of ERPs and the ability to manage ERP-related continuous improvement projects.
Willingness and ability to get engaged and lead projects from a global perspective with the aim of standardization across the group.
Ability to see the bigger picture and integrate different points of view.
