Job description
Lime Rock Park, the legendary racing and entertainment venue favored by event participants and fans, sited on 400 acres in beautiful Litchfield County, is seeking a Director of Accounting to join its growing team.
Responsibilities:

Maintains and enforces a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
Oversees the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives
Ensures that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
Ensures that accounts receivable are collected promptly & periodic bank reconciliations are completed
Ensures that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
Maintains the chart of accounts & an orderly accounting filing system
Ensures system of controls over accounting transactions
Issues timely and complete financial statements
Coordinates the preparation of the corporate annual report
Recommends benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
Calculates and issues financial and operating metrics
Manages the production of the annual budget and forecasts
Calculates variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
Provides for a system of management cost reports
Provides financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations

Compliance:

Coordinates the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
Monitors debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
Complies with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

Qualifications:
Candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation. Preference will be given to candidates with the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations.
