I. Position Objective:

Reporting to and partnering with the CFO, the Director of Finance will oversee, direct, implement, monitor, and regulate financial and selected Operational aspects of the GOG Foundation Inc., which includes finances, Partner programs, payroll, capital improvements, investments, all grants (federal, state, industry, etc.), contracts and subawards relating to the GOG with the approval of the CFO.

II. Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the financial and Operational activity of GOG Foundation Inc; direct, regulate and monitor all grants, contracts, and subawards for the GOG Foundation, including developing financial systems, implementing internal controls, processing payroll, accounts payable and administering grant budgets; approving and monitoring all grant expenditures; Prepare, plan, and oversee yearly audit and taxes.
  • Draft and negotiate clinical trial budgets between GOG and Industry Sponsors.
  • Manage client/vendor relationships and issue resolution.
  • Build, track and analyze budgets, conduct payment analysis and process change orders for finances (when appropriate).
  • Develop and respond to budget proposal requests by creating an overall trial budget (with service fee and passthrough estimates) based on various protocol assumptions.
  • Knowledge of global Site Investigator grant using fair market value estimates of the protocol procedures. Ability to understand a protocol schedule of assessments, and prior experience with Medicare coverage analysis.
  • Oversee and direct GOG�s Investment activities including, setting up accounting procedures and standard journal entries; maintaining systems for negotiating, monitoring, and approving the expenditures; developing, negotiating, and administering master Partner budgets.
  • Assist with site budget development, negotiations, and administration.
  • Negotiate subcontract agreements, monitor performance, and take necessary action on any audit findings. Prepare and participate in negotiating indirect cost proposals and other grant regulatory filings. Monitor and take corrective actions on subrecipients audit reports and audit findings. Participate and advise the CFO, President, Treasurer, and Board of Directors of all financial activities of the GOG.
  • Manage and oversee the financial activities of the GOG�s committee programs in conjunction with Groups Executive Director of GOG Operations, including organizing committee appointments, developing, and negotiating committee contracts, developing, and maintaining committee budgets, tracking committee expenses, and staffing meeting and providing managerial support. Provide related support and advice to the GOG�s BOD.
  • Develop, direct, and advise the GOG of all grants and contracts rules and regulations; implement and monitor procedures to stay in compliance with regulations as they relate to the GOG. Approve grant variances and requesting variances from granting bodies when appropriate. Prepare and submit all grant reports for internal and external use.
  • Provide support and guidance for the GOG Administrative Office located in Philadelphia, on all fiscal and administrative matters in addition to grant-specific activities.
  • Manage employee performance, set goals, provide timely feedback and coach for professional development and overall job effectiveness.
  • Manage employee schedules, approve timesheets and requests for time off.
  • Conduct interviews and make hiring decisions for positions directly reporting to this role.

III.�Education Requirements

  • Bachelor�s degree in accounting.
  • CPA preferred.

IV.�Experience

  • Minimum 10 plus years� accounting experience in a non-profit organization.
  • Minimum 5 plus years� experience in Pharma clinical trial contracting, CRO setting.
  • Experience in clinical trial Investigator grant build and negotiations.

VI. Physical Requirements

  • This position frequently works in an office environment and sits at a desk for extended periods of time and requires dexterity to operate general office equipment.
  • The person in this position will frequently communicate with peers, managers, subordinates, and clients, and must be able to exchange accurate and timely information in these situations.
  • This position may require frequent walking, bending, kneeling, standing, and reaching, and will require sitting for extended periods of time.
  • The person in this position may occasionally travel via personal vehicle regionally and via commercial transportation nationally.
  • The person in this position may need to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs.

VII. Work Environment

The work environment is an indoors office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Occasional travel will be required.
