Equities Research Sales, Analyst Job at RBC in Sydney NSW

What is the opportunity?

As the Equities Research Sales, Analyst, you will be responsible for maintaining, developing and growing a high quality institutional equity business for RBCCM in line with specific targets and business plan objectives as agreed with Head of Equities, Australia.

What will you do?

Assist senior sales staff with desk product and distribution

Support ECM and research requests of the Sales and Trading team

Support senior sales staff with daily tasks and client management

Undertake to learn research product and build relationships with key internal stakeholders

Aim to have some relationships with junior members of the Australian investment community

Assist with corporate and client roadshows, organise and attend meetings

Print and distribute daily research pack to sales and trading team

Undertake specific project work where required for the Equities business

Learn trading platform and ability to enter client orders

Work closely in conjunction with other business units in order to better co-ordinate RBC’s client offering where possible and ultimately improve our ratings and revenues

Ensure continuous education activity is completed

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

Undergraduate degree in Commerce, BA, BS or similar undergrad degree

Equities knowledge

Understanding of financial markets

Highly motivated with demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities and requests

Ability to take initiative and function well within a team

Strong written and oral communication skills

Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to create and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization

Must maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct

Must maintain level of knowledge through CPD

Nice-to-have

Previous Equities experience desirable, but not a requirement
