European Energy Analyst Job at ENGIE – in Kent

ENGIE are recruiting for a European Energy Analyst to be based at Riverbridge House, Anchor Boulevard, Dartford Kent, DA2 6SL. This is a permanent, full time role, working 37.5 hours a week. On offer is a competitive salary and company benefits package.

The Energy Analyst provides comprehensive support to Clients, Procurement Managers, Risk & Trading, Sales, Accounts Team and the wider international business. Support and advice will cover budgets, non-energy charges, energy procurement services, risk management, vPPA, PPA and all additional renewable energy products by supplying product information, market analysis, pricing evaluation, and contract management. They are experts on all deregulated energy markets, independently providing these services for clients throughout Europe.

What is your Day to Day:
Administer the mechanics of the energy supply contracts, vPPA contracts, PPA contracts – check site lists and suppliers’ energy prices, support the bill checking team and report to clients on exposure, saving, cost variances, update all relevant databases etc

Administer the mechanics of non-energy costs within energy supply contracts and provide detailed and comprehensive client budgets

Monitor and analyse European natural gas and electricity markets for non-energy, tax and levy charges impacting budgets

Create, set, report and maintain budgets for clients

Focus and delivery on sustainability solutions for clients, such as Power Purchase Agreements, both virtual and physical

Create, set and maintain a detailed European repository for non-energy costs

Create and maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of all European regulatory energy markets

Attend client/supplier meetings where necessary

Interact with relevant IT and systems administrators to ensure validation projects and products are furnished with accurate and up to date information

Understand the clients (pricing, demand, budgeting), create and support optimal products and services

Play an active role in obtaining credit information from clients and resolving any issues

Be part of a team with shared responsibility for transacting wholesale gas and electricity volumes

Support the account management and new business development teams

Qualifications

About you:
Degree level – Economics, Finance, Maths, Business or Engineering.

Relevant experience, particularly in the areas of energy procurement, utilities, finance, risk management, or quantitative analysis

Experience in a client facing role working directly with customers/suppliers

Project management skills – ability to manage competing client/supplier demands, liaise with energy suppliers and adhere to internal quality standards often to tight deadlines

Able to speak additional one or two European languages (French, German, Spanish, Dutch etc)

A good team player able to work as a part of a team or on their own

An ability to identify problems and resolve them swiftly

Must be detail oriented, process and results driven, flexible, adaptable and self-motivated

Outstanding analytical and numerical reasoning skills

Excellent verbal, written, negotiating and interpersonal skills

Advanced MS Excel and Word skill level required

Ability to create macros and programming within excel highly desired

Advanced presentation development and delivery skills

Ability to handle deadlines and high stress situations on a periodic basis

Occasional travel to client locations may be required
