FINANCE ASSISTANT Job at Joma Jewellery in Banbury

Permanent / Full time / 9am-5pm / Mon-Fri / Banbury based

As Finance Assistant you will ensure the profitability of the business through high levels of financial control, supporting the company in its daily activities and growth plans through providing accurate, timely and meaningful information that enables Management to make effective decisions. The department is also responsible for providing exceptional service to Joma Jewellery and Katie Loxton customers.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you are integral in ensuring that the transactional accounting of the group is accurately captured and that the core financial operations run smoothly.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Responding to accounts queries on the phone and through emails

Monitoring payments and approving sales orders

Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers across multiple currencies

Bank reconciliation (in multiple currencies)

Producing accurate and meaningful financial reports

VAT return preparation

Account reconciliations

Updating the accounts system with invoices and bank statements

Calculating and entering journals, including inter-company adjustments

Other ad hoc duties may be required to be carried out as and when needed

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Previous experience of working in a Finance department

Excellent attention to detail

Ability to develop solutions and problem-solve

Experience of working in a fast-paced environment

Excellent organisation skills and adaptability

Excellent communication skills

Intermediate level of experience with Microsoft Excel

Ability to work as part of a team and individually

Self-motivated with a positive and can-do attitude

Ability to use initiative to help drive team performance

AAT Part Qualified/Qualified preferable
