Xylotek seeks a Finance Assistant to join our team.

We are a fast growing, creative and sustainable UK-based timber construction company seeking to expand our capacity to deliver exceptional structures in wood.

By combining unique depth of knowledge of timber construction with advanced technical and design expertise, we offer bespoke specialist consultancy, production and installation services at all project stages from conception to built realisation.

Who we seek:

We seek a highly competent Finance Assistant to support the Financial Controller of this exciting, fast-growing advanced timber engineering business. The finance function is responsible for processing accounts and bank transactions, and the preparation of historic accounts, financial analysis and forecasts to support business decisions, while ensuring that the business is complying with all required legal, tax and reporting requirements.

You will:

To support the Financial Controller and Finance Director in developing an excellent finance function that will support the growth aspirations of Xylotek to be the market leader in advanced timber design and engineering by:

  • Processing accounting transactions.
  • Helping make and receive payments and receipts.
  • Assisting with preparation of financial analysis and other reports.
  • Communicating with managers, other staff members, customers, suppliers and other organisations.

Summary of role requirements:

  • Strong background and understanding of working in the finance function of a business.
  • A team player who can communicate with non-financial colleagues.
  • Numerate with good attention to detail and ability to organise workloads effectively.
  • Work well under pressure.
  • Knowledge and experience of Xero preferred.
  • Strong MS Excel skills.
  • Experience in the construction, architecture or building design industries will be helpful.
  • Bristol or South-West with an agreed blend of remote and office-based working.
