Role Overview

Based in our Manchester office, the Finance Assistant provides essential administrative support to our Finance department. This is a varied role providing exposure to all specialist areas within Finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide essential administrative support with the Property database, ensuring move-in documents are loaded successfully
  • Effectively manage the fixed assets register
  • Upload and enter invoices to the accounting system, checking bills in the system
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding purchasing queries
  • Manage manual invoice approval process
  • Monitor the accounts payable email inbox, ensuring queries and issues are resolved efficiently
  • Provide sales ledger support including; matching bank book receipts to the ledger, confirming bank details for customer refunds, preparing arrears letters, raising rent invoices, preparation for deposits to pay to DPS, allocation of money on DPS once cleared, and uploading DPS certificates
  • Manage the post triage and distribution process
  • Support the Finance team with general administrative tasks
  • Contribute your ideas to improve our ways of working
  • Providing support across departments if and when required

Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous administration experience within an office environment, ideally within a Finance team
  • Basic knowledge of Finance processes and procedures
  • Basic Finance within residential lettings knowledge is desirable
  • Excellent IT skills, confident in using Microsoft packages, and working with multiple in-house systems
  • Strong time management and organisation skills
  • A confident self-starter with a pragmatic approach
  • A team player, yet the ability to work alone and on own initiative
  • Ability to quickly build partnerships across the Company, and solid relationships with our external stakeholders, vendors and customers
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Recognises and practices the importance of confidentiality and dealing with sensitive data
  • Knowledge or genuine interest in Real Estate and Property Management
