Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Reporting and Analysis

Provide monthly report to explain monthly results with insightful analysis for review with business partner
Ensure accuracy of the reporting system, including regular intra-month reviews of spending and variances, using information to help correct potential errors prior to month-end closing process
Utilize information within and without monthly reports to identify areas for improvement and/or development
Work with business partners to understand and/or model the financial effect of decisions, changes and strategies
Work with other Manufacturing Finance team members to provide month-end commentary on manufacturing variances across different facilities and product lines

Financial Control Advising and Monitoring

Reviews various transactions in the SAP system to ensure accuracy of financial results
Works with business partners to educate and advise on proper entry of transactions into SAP system
Monitors, advises, and educates business partners and staff regarding financial policies
Reviews and documents key business processes. Identifies gaps and areas of improvement and works with business partners to enact proper changes
Works with business partner to ensure timely completion of inventory control activities

Cycle counting, Aged/Obsolete material disposal, review of expired materials
Monitors inventory levels, including safety stock levels, challenging where appropriate in conjunction with Integrated Business Planning procedures and processes.

Product Cost Controlling

Monitors and analyzes manufacturing variances (i.e., production order variances and cost center variances) to understand drivers and suggest potential actions to correct or update
Understands Bills of Material, Production Routers and other Material Master Data and their effect on standard product costs. Works with other departments (Master Data, Supply Chain, etc.) to drive corrections and adjustments as appropriate
Assists Business Units in understanding levels of profitability across products and product groups, including participation in quarterly Low/Negative Margin review process
Reviews part lists to identify idle/inactive parts in the SAP system
Understands product costing structure and suggests improvements as appropriate
Reviews requests for ad hoc cost rolls. Releases approved requests as appropriate
Reviews interim provisional rolls to identify major changes to product costs and cost roll failures. Communicates finding to greater Finance team
Analyze and assist business partner regarding manufacturing productivity metrics
Provide insight into and validation of continuous improvement projects

Annual Planning Process

Full ownership of Annual Planning Process with business partner, including, but not limited to:

Working with business partners to develop and upload spending plans for the planning horizon, including challenging amounts and assumptions, where appropriate.
Engaging with Value Stream Managers to develop appropriate direct labor hour requirements based on information from sales forecast, as provided.
Developing appropriate cost allocation processes for support departments.
Developing absorption rates for manufacturing departments and preparing explanation of those rates to upper management, including changes from previous plan and actual results.
Reviewing final results with business partners to ensure comprehension and agreement, delivering results to upper management review meetings as a team.
Serving as liaison between business partners and the larger organization to ensure the budget meets Greene Tweed’s strategic requirements.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or equivalent regional certification (CPA, CMA or CGMA)

Skills and Experience:

5-8 years total accounting experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a Cost Accounting or Financial Analysis Role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
High proficiency Microsoft Excel required
The ability to effectively partner and proactively counsel business partners on all financial matters required
Preference given to candidates with previous SAP experience
