Finance Director Job at the Bike Club in London

the Bike Club is a venture-backed business who are at an exciting stage of growth and are looking for a Finance Director who will be responsible for both the strategic and operational objectives for our finance team. This is an incredible opportunity for someone with an enterprise mindset who is confident working at board level, with proven ability to build a high performing finance team and implement processes which are fit for our trajectory.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Overall responsibility for the development and operation of the finance function
  • Overseeing the financial strategic planning of the company by evaluating performance and identifying potential risks
  • Implementation of financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems
  • Responsible for all cash-flow, reconciliations, VAT, Tax and GL activity
  • Building scalable processes which enable us to achieve business goals
  • Preparing board reports and attending board meetings
  • Partnering with the senior management team to develop financial KPI’s
  • Building a high performing finance team
  • Working with CEO on fundraising requirements including relevant due diligence and other ad hoc projects.
  • Fully integrate the payments architecture of the business within the finance function
  • Financial reporting to private equity and other prominent venture investors
  • Execution of 100-day plan set by private equity investors

What we are looking for:

  • Someone who is happy to shift quickly from working at board level to being hands-on with more junior team members
  • Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA etc.)
  • A confident communicator who is able to build relationships at all levels
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Previous experience managing a team
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Excellent analytical skills; strong technically, particularly with Excel/systems
  • Ideally: Previous experience working for a private equity-backed firm
  • Ideally: Previous experience in company exits such as IPO or trade sale
