About ATAC

Textron Systems – ATAC provides tactical flight training and adversary aggressor services for U.S. Navy, Marine and Air Force pilots. ATAC operates simultaneously across eight sites and two continents and comprises the world’s largest outsourced civilian, tactical airborne training organization and proudly provides the highest quality live training to Squadrons, Air Wings, and Battle Groups.

The Finance Manager for Newport News Office will be the Finance business partner to the Navy Program Management team, as well as main financial interface to Senior Leadership Team. This individual will lead a team of financial analysts and ensures the integrity of the data reported on all programs for customers as well as internal to Textron Systems and Textron Corporate. This team works closely with leadership and operations team in Newport News, VA, as well as Alliance, TX.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial management and analysis for internally and externally funded projects

Establish program baseline budgets and provide analysis & reporting on performance to budgets through execution of the programs.

Support program and operation managers in implementing corrective action plans.

Provide insight and analysis to senior management on status of program performance

Support monthly and quarterly reviews with internal stakeholders on cost issues, trends, risks & opportunities, and other program financial matters.

Lead Internal Controls for Navy Programs Estimate at Completion (EAC) process including presentation to Senior and Executive management teams.

Navy program financial planning and forecasting

Lead the creation of financial projections and deliverables for recurring business management processes including Strategic Business Review (SBR), Long-Range Plan (LRP), Annual Operating Plan (AOP), President’s Business Review (PBR), and Monthly Operations Call (MOC) as well as ad-hoc analysis.

Coordinate with the FP&A team on financial issues associated with billings/collections, cash flow, program forecasts, backlog, and revenue recognition. Deliverables includes monthly forecast updates financial metrics with variance analysis and risk & opportunity analysis.

Provides support to Pricing & Estimating team on new business initiatives and capture/proposal process including cost estimating, strategic pricing, ROI and investment analysis.

Manage program finance team. Develop work plans and assignments to grow and promote talent including support to talent reviews. Assign special projects and continuous improvement initiatives to improve various financial processes and individual skill sets of all employees.

Education: Bachelor’s degree Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field plus 5+ years of directly related program finance experience with demonstrated progression/advancement; Master’s degree a plus.

Understanding of MRP/ERP systems and manufacturing concepts.

Pro-active, hands –on self-starter who can take tasks from concept to completion with minimal direction.

Capable of successfully managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Demonstrated ability to work well with others in responsible positions at various organizational and functional levels to resolve matters of interrelated responsibility, while exercising a high degree of tact, objectivity and diplomacy to obtain program objectives.

Ability to communicate effectively across and within the organization with management, peers, customers and team members. Ability to succinctly and confidently communicate to all levels of the Company.

Five plus years of related experience in cost analysis, budgeting, scheduling and accounting on government contracts.

Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint; and Oracle
