FINANCIAL ANALYST Job at WestCorp Solutions – in Vancouver, BC
As the turnaround long range financial analyst, you will develop the turnaround (TA) budget and financial long range plan (LRP), prepare funding requests for major inspections, overhauls and turnarounds, and manage associated external partner communications and interactions. You will translate financial and project health data, supporting the communication of risks and opportunities throughout the oil sands turnaround portfolio.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
Lead alignment sessions with cross functional teams (CFT) to develop and deliver the 10 year financial long-range plan for turnarounds
Lead feedback and alignment discussions with area cross functional teams (ACFT) and the Turnaround Leadership Team
Challenge assumptions, timelines, and costs from previous plans
Update event costs within the LRP as the cost model changes
Coordinate the TA major inspections, overhauls, and turnarounds (MIOT) funding request for approval
Lead improvement opportunities and detailed analysis required to support greater portfolio understanding
Act as the subject matter expert of TA funding policies, which involves coaching partners about budget choices
Work with finance to provide training to turnaround and CFT resources
Must-haves (minimum requirements):
A Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma (Engineering or Finance preferred)

Experience managing capital project funding and financials would be considered an asset
Experience working with CFT’s would be considered an asset
Strong collaboration skills with an ability to you use multiple horizontal and vertical relationships to identify answers and get results
A questioning attitude that will enable you to challenge existing norms and answers as you seek to lead change and bring value
Someone who can identify and solve problems using a diversity of standard methods, demonstrating judgement in selecting, classifying, and analyzing data from different sources
Strength in holding others accountable, with an expectation that others do the same for you
An ability to understand complex processes develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives, and creative process enhancement
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to process large amounts of data, extract and communicate insights
Quality detail orientation and the ability to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy
Location: Fort McMurray, AB
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 Hour Work Week
