The Financial Analyst (FA) is responsible for providing Finance customers with value-added information and analysis to assist in their decision-making process for managing the day-to-day and long-term business needs of the organization. The FA is also responsible for assisting in the identification of any potential problems or risk areas as well as opportunities that their customers may need to be aware of and act on.

What can you expect in this role?

Assist with financial planning and analysis in support of enterprise-level strategic initiatives and organizational projects

Assist in the preparation of annual and long-term financial budgets and forecasts for strategic initiatives

Build relationships with business partners by supporting their project reporting needs and delivering valuable insights

Support project governance and cost control in conjunction with strategic initiatives and organizational projects

Track and report monthly on the performance of strategic initiatives and organizational projects

Assist the Finance Team and business partners with ad hoc requests for financial analysis

Work to continuously enhance current processes and financial reporting to improve accuracy and efficiency

What do you bring to the role?

Completed university degree, preferably within accounting, business or finance, with high proven achievement

Enrolled in CPA / CFA / CBV designation or completed one of the designations

1-3 years of relevant experience

Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization

Ability to work effectively in a team and independently with minimal supervision

Advanced MS Excel, PowerPoint knowledge is required

Previous planning and/or expense analysis experience would be an asset

Knowledge and experience with insurance industry accounting would be an asset

Experience with Oracle Hyperion planning, Oracle Essbase reporting tools would be an asset

Strong analytical skills and have exceptional attention to detail

Self-starter who can identify opportunities to provide analysis and insight and execute on them

Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet firm deadlines

Highly motivated individual who demonstrates a desire to continuously develop your knowledge and financial acumen

This role requires successful clearance of a background checks including credit & criminal checks along with business references
