Wage Schedule: $37.64 – $43.40 per hour

Duties & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Manager, Business Advisory Services; the Financial Analyst is responsible for the accounting and analysis of transactions and projects that require an understanding of health care operations, general accounting and reporting, financial modeling and the ability to operate independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will assist Sr. Business Advisors for a specific set of clinical and non-clinical programs in completing month end entries, analysis, and other responsibilities, as well as gathering and analyzing data for the Sr. Business Advisors to meet with program leaders on a monthly/quarterly basis.

In Relation to Supported Clinical and Non-Clinical Programs:
” Prepare monthly journal entries as required;

” Verify, allocate, post and reconcile financial transactions between different accounting systems and/or modules;

” Prepare account analysis, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules;

” Provide support as requested for the annual external interim and yearend audit by completing requested materials and preparing assigned schedules;

” Provide technical support and advice to colleagues and management;

” Provide input into department’s goal setting processes;

” Participate in specific projects related to implementation of new systems and processes and performance improvement strategies as required by Finance Management or the Senior Management Team;

” Assist Sr. Business Advisors with Program requests as required;

” Other duties as required by Manager, Director, and CFO.

Qualifications:
” University degree or College diploma in finance/accounting;

” Completion of or in the process of completion of a Canadian recognized accounting designation (CPA) considered an asset;

” 3 to 5 years of related work experience;

” Strong analytical skills, as demonstrated with previous job responsibilities;

” Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of CICA handbook and PSAB;

” Experience in a healthcare setting with Level 1 MIS Guidelines certification is preferred;

” Experience with Power BI, Budman, Meditech, and SAP would be an asset;

” Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel software and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook;

” Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster good public relations and effective working relationships;

” Team player and able to work independently;

” Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

” Able to handle complexity and multiple deadlines at one time;

” Responsive to time-sensitive data requests and ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines;

” Problem-solving and issues resolution skills;

” Ability and mindset to automate and improve processes using current and future IT solutions;

” Strong customer service and communication skills;

” Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health’s comprehensive safety programs and practices, including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area;

” Proven good attendance record with the capability of maintaining this same standard.
