POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The GSC International Planning and Reporting team is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting including flash, forecast, and the annual budget for GSC manufacturing and distribution sites.

The analyst works closely with regional contacts in one of our GSC International Operations Regions through:

The annual budgeting process

The review of SG&A spending trends, headcount data, special project spending, etc.

Forecasting working capital, calculating and booking corporate charge expenses

Monthly reporting and analysis of forecast, flash and financial results

Preparing and loading financial restatements

In addition to the tasks listed above, the analyst will gain exposure reporting and hierarchy changes related to our global system integration projects and will help to drive continuous improvement by employing transactional lean tools to improve upon our hierarchy reporting structure and processes.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced work environment. Attention to detail, as well as a desire and ability to problem solve through complex financial situations is a must.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Preferred:
Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance or an MBA with a focus in Accounting, Finance or related field, CPA or CMA Certification

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
1+ years financial experience in financial planning & analytics or supply chain accounting

Preferred:
An understanding of GSC division and entity reporting structure,

Experience with international ledgers and a multi-organization structure,

International Accounting experience

Experience with the operating plan process, understanding of the GSC division memo reporting model

Understanding of Valspar accounting and/or Oracle 11i to Oracle R12 account mapping

Exposure to and understanding of the principles of Transactional Lean and Six Sigma

TECHNICAL/SKILLS:
Required:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Preferred:
A working knowledge of Oracle Essbase and Excel Smartview tool
