Financial Analyst, Senior – Quality Job at UPMC – 3.5 in Pittsburgh, PA
We are in search of a highly motivated Financial Analyst, Senior who is ready to take their career to the next level in a fast-growing company. This role would work daylight hours Monday-Friday and offers some work from home flexibility.
As part of the UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside Finance team, this analyst will serve as a primary financial support person for UPMC Health Services Division (HSD) quality improvement initiatives, in part by functioning as a liaison between Finance, Wolff Center, Revenue Cycle/HIM, Physician staff and other HSD leaders.

Support HSD efforts to optimize UPMC clinical documentation, coding, and billing, specifically as it relates to various CMS- and payer-driven quality programs, e.g., Pay-for-Performance, Bundled Payments, Quality Incentives/Payment Reductions.
Analyze complex clinical / financial data to extract and communicate relevant information; interpret data for the purpose of determining past clinical / financial performance, and/or to project a future activity. Examples include but are not limited to cost of care/pathway assessments, cost/benefit and return-on-investment analyses, and staffing projections.
Perform statistical analysis of clinical utilization, quality, and financial data. Summarize and convey key findings and conclusions to a nontechnical audience of both internal and external customers and, at times, senior management.
Interpret financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions.
Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Act as a mentor for Financial Analysts or administrative staff.
Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related business field required.
Minimum of three years of related work experience required.
OR High School Diploma/GED and five years of related work experience.
Microsoft Office spreadsheet application required, and PeopleSoft General Ledger proficiency preferred.
