Financial Crime Analyst Job at Westpac Group – in Sydney NSW
How will I help?
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Transaction Monitoring and Customer Risk, the Transaction Monitoring and Customer Risk Analytics team, develop, support/maintain and enhance existing SAS scripts and systems for the effective detection of Financial Crime.
As the Financial Crimes Analyst you will deliver enhancements to the Transaction Monitoring systems through the data and advanced analytics. You will be responsible for developing specific data and analytical solutions to meet Financial Crime typologies and risks.
You will need to work collaboratively to:
Identify the data needs for analytics, develop SAS scripts and implement automated routines to transform and analyse data.
Extract, validate, transform and load data from multiple sources for analytics
Conduct analytics for identifying patterns, characteristics for monitoring and creating new detection scenarios.
Utilise vendor detection systems, analyse the output of these systems and propose solutions to optimise these detection systems.
Maintain engagement with the Financial Crime Transaction Monitoring team for continuous improvement of the system and deliverables

Programming skills in SAS
Other programming skills such as Teradata SQL or R/Python
Process automation and scheduling
Unix operating system
