As the company’s second line of defense, Corporate Risk — or Independent Risk Management — provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo’s risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline’s execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk. Corporate Risk roles depend on a variety of skills, including: Data analysis and synthesis, root cause analysis, change management, process management & execution, risk governance, risk strategy, risk identification & assessment, risk prevention, controls & mitigation, risk monitoring, reporting & escalation, risk systems & technology.
Use of this job is restricted to Financial Crimes in Corporate Risk. The Financial Crimes team is responsible for implementing and maintaining an effective financial crimes program for the company that complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory expectations including Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Counter-Terrorist Financing, Global Sanctions and Fraud within certain parameters. Manages a smaller risk-based financial crimes program across the enterprise or a risk-based financial crimes program across mid-size business(es) or functional area with low to moderate risk and complexity. Implements and monitors procedures, controls, analytics and trend analysis to ensure proactive identification, prevention execution, detection, investigation, recovery and government/internal reporting of financial crime activity. Identifies potential corrective actions, and follows through on reporting, escalation, and resolution. Provides thoughtful independent credible challenge internally, to supported lines of business, and across other Corporate Risk programs. Maintains an awareness of financial crimes activity across the enterprise and ensures all issues are proactively addressed, escalating where necessary. Manages the use of internal and external data, including publicly available information. Leads implementation of multiple complex initiatives with low to moderate risk. Ensures coordination with team, line of business, other business units, Audit, and regulators on risk related topics. Manages a team of Sr Associates, Associates and/or Analysts in accomplishing goals.

2+ years of leadership experience
5+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 5+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in risk management
Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) experience
Ability to take an active role in the education, mentoring and training of less experienced team members
Ability to work independently
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Leadership skills including; coaching, training, and mentoring
The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.
MN-Minneapolis: Min: $80,500 Mid: $115,000 Max: $149,500
NC-Charlotte: Min: $80,500 Mid: $115,000 Max: $149,500
