Growth Hub Head Africa – (TOM 1052) Job at Sanofi – in Midrand, Gauteng

JOB PURPOSE

Leads end-to-end Consumer and shopper engagement journey for all categories within the zone. Is responsible for the category team including brand management, CMI, Innovation, Consumer /HCP/ Shopper activation, Digital & Media.

Owner of the growth strategy, driving overall Sanofi Consumer Healthcare market leadership through the full portfolio of brands via consumer-centric innovation, activation, and execution excellence.

Builder of a strong performance culture within the Growth Hub, of future positions in emerging growth segments and a future pool of leaders.

KEY RESULTS/ACCOUNTABILITIES

Driving PLAY TO WIN Mindset

Develop and fuel a Play to Win culture of “can do” and challenge within the category growth team to create an environment of ownership and responsibility.

Lead the category growth team, coach, challenge, monitor and evaluate the team performance to ensure a highly energized and motivated team.

Drive Category Growth

Strategic leadership for category, ensuring aligned Where to Play and How to Win choices based on deep consumer insights to drive sustainable sales growth and profitability, managing resource allocation across portfolio of brands

Accountable for leading the team to identify and size the key initiatives driving each category growth opportunity

Innovation

Digital Acceleration

Consumer initiatives (proposing related ATL investments)

Shopper initiatives (proposing pricing strategies and BTL investments)

HCP initiatives

Lead, design, and ensure implementation of the strategic category Growth Plan for overall category portfolio in order to ensure focus on the achievement of above market growth & sales / profitability objectives

Partner with business finance to transform Growth Plan into clear and measurable financials

Lead team to create integrated consumer connections based on consumer and shopper journey and marketing mix analysis that connect with right consumer & Shopper, at right moment, through the right channel, with the right message to drive growth

Define brand architecture for local brands and strengthen brand equity in line with Global Brand Definition

Oversee category P&L management, forecasting, and inventory planning

Growth plan execution

Accountable for growth forecasts in business, brand and long-range planning processes.

Accountable for excellent execution of the key initiatives driving category growth

Lead digital and media teams to drive strong partnership with agencies and drive efficiencies and effectiveness in digital/media activities and spends.

Partner with the customer teams to represent category growth levers and brand ambition into the Customer Plan (promotional priorities by cycle/channel/customer)

Partner with the growth performance team in defining the right KPIs to track the ROI of the Growth Plan and the execution of the key initiatives

Analyse the growth performance team recommendations to maximize the profitability and accelerate the market share gain

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

Education – Business or scientific background, bachelor’s degree, MBA is a plus

Language skills – Excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and spoken) in Business English.

Required knowledge and/or experience

Minimum 15+ years’ experience in Marketing, Brand Marketing, Shopper & Trade Marketing

Current or previous experience in Consumer Healthcare or FMCG companies with proven track record in Marketing, Brand Marketing, Shopper & Trade Marketing Leadership positions
