The Manager, Integrated Transport Services

provides leadership and direction to the

Integrated Transport Services unit and is

responsible for the planning and delivery of

transport and mobility services for QUT. These

services include implementation and

management of contemporary transport

solutions, campus traffic and parking,

intercampus bus, public transport, active

transport, intracampus mobility, fleet and

promotion of transport information.

This position reports to the Director, Campus

Services and Procurement for supervision,

workload management and for Performance

Planning and Review (PPR).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide proactive leadership of a team

and in the strategic planning,

implementation and delivery of operational

integrated transport services for QUT.

  • Liaise, consult and negotiate with external

parties including Government (eg Brisbane

City Council), service providers and

suppliers to ensure positive commercial

outcomes and QUT’s transport needs are


  • Consult widely within QUT to ensure

integrated transport services are aligned

with the needs of the University


  • Continuously improve QUT’s active

transport services and infrastructure,

transport information services and

systems along with the promotion of better

travel options.

  • Actively develop and implement solutions

to decrease demand on QUT’s limited

parking resources.

  • Develop, implement and manage the

measurement and mitigation of the

University’s greenhouse gas emissions

resulting from QUT’s transportation


  • Ensure a high level of customer service

for students, staff, visitors and other users

of QUT’s transport services.

  • Compliance with health and safety

policies, procedures, hazard reporting and

safe work practices.

To ensure job flexibility the successful

appointee may be required to:

  • perform any other duties as nominated by

the University consistent with the relevant

classification descriptors detailed in the

Enterprise Agreement. Staff undertaking

any new duties will receive training;

  • participate in job rotation or multiskilling in

consultation with their supervisor;

Selection Criteria

1. Relevant tertiary or post graduate

qualification and/or proven equivalent

knowledge and experience in the

management of integrated transport


2. Knowledge and proven experience in

contemporary transport strategic planning,

policy and procedures, including

experience in the measurement and

mitigation of transport carbon emissions.

3. Demonstrated and proven experience in

the effective and efficient management of

service providers, commercial contracts

and financial budget performance.

4. Highly developed interpersonal and

communication skills that cultivate and

maintain productive, collaborative and

outcomes-focused relationships to

anticipate and negotiate changes in QUT

student, staff and community expectations

and requirements.

5. Proven team leadership ability with

experience in building and maintaining

coherent team culture focused on achieving

organisational goals through performance

management, process optimisation and

service delivery.

6. Ability to work as a key member of the

senior management team in a large,

diverse organisation.

Remuneration and Benefits

The classification for this position is Higher

Education Worker Level 10 (HEW10) which

has an annual remuneration range of $147,491

to $164,965 pa. Which is inclusive of an annual

salary range of $124,632 to $139,398 pa and

17% superannuation.

In July 2020 QUT staff voted in favour of a

variation to its Enterprise Agreements. The

variations were approved by the Fair Work

Commission in August 2020.

The variation impacts leave loading (for new

staff no loading will be paid or accrued during

the period the variation is in effect), salary

increases (the salary increase which was due

to occur in the first full pay period of December

2020 has been deferred until the first full pay

period of December 2021, however it has been

brought forward by the Vice-Chancellor to be

paid in June 2021) and superannuation

(superannuation will be paid to staff as though

the salary increase which would have been

paid in December 2020 has taken effect and,

subject to the rules of the superannuation fund,

a defined benefit member will continue to make

contributions in alignment with the contributions
