Operations Finance Assistant Job at Innovate Foods Ltd – in Kirkcaldy

The Operations Finance Assistant role is to safeguard the commercial and financial integrity of the business. They will work closely with the CFO to optimise the revenue and margin opportunity through effective Commercial and Working Capital management. They will assist with the production of the forecasts and budgets. This role will require timely review and tracking of Purchase Orders, and the management of Debt to achieve the company Working Capital targets.

Main responsibilities:

  • Assist with the month end close and management accounts preparation
  • Assist with the year end close and working papers
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly forecasts, quarterly and annual budgets
  • Liaison with the sales administration/ storemen regarding order logistics and stock transfers
  • Actively manage the debt to ensure it is kept to a minimum. Including setting up and managing Debt trackers to deliver improvement to corporate targets relative to the Business Unit and monitoring outstanding debtors and pursue cash collection
  • Work with operations and finance teams to ensure department invoicing is completed in a timely manner.
  • Assist in preparation of project and unit costing reports
  • Assist in implementing, managing, and monitoring company KPI’s
  • Promote understanding and accountability to Engineers to deliver improved commercial control of individual projects and contract deliverables
  • Provide administration and commercial support to the business unit for all activities
  • Ensure contract and project variations are captured, approved, and monitored
  • Undertake periodic contract reviews and ensure that specific issues, risks, and opportunities are understood and communicated
  • Ensure project cash flows follow financial procedures
  • Maintain awareness of changes to legislation or operating costs that will impact regional financial performance and work to mitigate affect.

Qualifications and experience:

The successful candidate will be a team player and self-starter, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage conflicting priorities.

  • Commercial/Financial background with previous experience in a similar role
  • HNC/HND in Finance/Business Management would be advantageous
  • Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Must have a “Team attitude”, be self-motivated and be willing to support other groups and projects when required
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment among multiple projects and ability to support ad-hoc requests
  • Strong computer skills; sound knowledge of MS Office

Desirable:

  • Working towards a relevant professional qualification
