Payment Times Reporting Analyst

About the role

A newly created role with the primary objective of supporting the compliant and accurate delivery of Payment Times Report to the Department of Treasury

It will require working closely DET and Suncorp’s operational and payment functions across the group to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the Payment Times group reporting solution

It will require oversight of regulatory requirements and strong change governance of source system process and system changes

Ensure Suncorp as a group is audit ready in regard to the delivered payment times reports and supporting artefacts in instances of scheduled internal and external audits

Work with business to remediate and improve group payment time compliance

Key Accountabilities

Business Product Ownership

Define the vison and strategy for the technical product lifecycle.

Identify product performance issues and work with DET to resolve.

Act as a liaison between business and DET to define scope and requirements for fixes and enhancements.

Translate business requirements into user stories for DET architects.

Prioritisation of Work In Progress.

Contribute towards testing and product owner sign off of any product enhancements of fixes.

Prioritisation new feature requests and manage expectations with the business.

Understand the business processes that feed into the reporting solution.

Understanding analytics solution health and ensuring proposed solutions take into account risks and limitations.

Supports partners in delivering and maintaining value adding payment times analytics solutions.

Risk

Manage reporting solution and associated risks in accordance with Enterprise Risk Framework and Data Governance Standards.

Ensure solution is audit ready and all documents and artefacts are stored in accordance with the regulatory requirements.

System Maintenance, Data Storage and Audits

Work with the Data Enterprise and Technology team to ensure central reporting platform is up to date and periodically tested to ensure nil issues during the reporting period.

Support business owners across the group in generating intra period reports to track ongoing performance and ensure end of period report shows favourable performance.

Changes to the reporting structure and or any associated invoice payment systems is to be carefully assessed in line with central reporting platform’s technical document and avoid system breakdowns and downtime issues.

Support any internal or external audits which may originate from the department to Treasury and ensure Suncorp’s data integrity is preserved at all times.

All reporting artefacts to be clearly documented and stored to ensure nil observations from auditors and be able to support questions around reported performance.

Payment Times Performance Management

Support Payment Times Reporting leader as required during bi-annual reporting cycle.

Support business owners in identifying key suppliers and or specific invoicing transactions requiring improvement from payment process standpoint.

Identify automation and enhancement opportunities to streamline the BAU reporting process whilst ensuring the overarching regulatory requirements of the Payment Times Reporting are always met.

About you

3-5+ years’ experience within a financial services organisation into complex reporting environment.

Proven successful track record of delivering group wide financial, operational or regulatory reports.

Understanding of financial and business systems (e.g.Oracle / Ariba, Cognos, Claim centre).

Experience in understanding and reporting of trade credit related payments.

Experience in providing financial or regulatory reporting within a Finance and Insurance organisation.

Experience in working with outsourced partners and geographically diverse teams.

Ability to apply technical skills in a practical manner to achieve problem identification resolution.

Ability to draw on a broad range of information and apply a lateral approach to problem solving.

Awareness of the impacts on Suncorp from financial transactions and processes.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Think-Cell.

High attention to detail – Manage data to be accurate, timely and accessible.

Communicate information in a clear, well-organized, and professional manner.

High degree of financial acumen and awareness of financial responsibility.

Strong facilitation, influencing and negotiation skills.

Strong analytic drive, with focus on the details as well as the big picture.

Strong ability in requirement gathering and interpreting requirements.

Working experience and knowledge of data warehouse concepts and sourcing data from core systems and BI tools (Tableau, Cognos, SQL and Netezza).

Proven ability to connect the dots and identify errors, exceptions or inaccuracies in the data

Ability to design and implement process optimization.
