Position Title: People Development and Equity Coordinator (HR Generalist)

Reports to: Senior Director of Talent and Equity

Position Status: Full-Time/ Part-Time

Location: Remote until re-opening (CT or NY Offices)

Target Start Date: May/ June 2021

Salary: $50s to $60s (commensurate with experience)

All Our Kin first opened its doors in a housing development in New Haven, Connecticut in 1999. Today, we serve over 850 family child care educators with networks representing five Connecticut cities and New York City, in addition to the surrounding communities.

What You Will Do

Outreach & Recruitment

Collaborate with the Sr Director of Talent Development and Equity to establish an organizational recruitment and onboarding/ offboarding strategy and process, conduct on-boarding and off-boarding for staff and recommend changes to the process

Build diverse talent pools & pipelines for current and future job openings

Manage and expand external partnerships with colleges, job boards and search partners

Implement online and offline branding activities and participate in recruitment activities to drive awareness of All Our Kin

Creatively leverage existing networks (e.g., education institutions) to fill hard to fill roles (e.g. family child care education coach)

Manage the recruitment system and job postings, with the support of the Central Team Office Associate

Develop recruitment processes and support hiring managers in all stages of the recruitment cycle, including application process, interviews, and communicating with candidates

Establish recruitment processes and policies to ensure equitable hiring practices across the organization

Measure key outreach and recruitment metrics, like source of hire and time to fill position

Staff Development & Engagement (As Needed)

Assist with management of employee grievances, human resources employee policies, wellness programs, and organizational practices

Develop and report on annual and periodic HR analytics and work with organizational leadership to develop strategies for engagement

Assist with employee feedback on policies and procedures through one-on-one and small group meetings

Manage and support human resource and organization’s interns

Maintain and update the Employee Handbook as needed

Systems Building (As Needed)

Directly oversee the human resources compliance process to ensure legal, federal, state and local guidelines are followed including, but not limited to EEO, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, workers’ compensation, etc.

Perform regular benchmarking and internal reviews to align compensation and incentives across all roles within the organization. Update compensation scales.

Enforces organizational best practice guidelines by collaborating with the Senior Director of Talent Development and Equity and COO to prepare, update, and recommend policies and procedures, including reviewing and updating the Employee Handbook annually

Coordinate human resources technology upgrades and maintenance including, confidential employee human resource records and HRIS database

Cultivate professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies

Support the organization (EHS and other teams) with documentation and processes (background checks, medical forms)

Build diversity, equity and inclusion as a capability throughout the human resources processes of recruitment, onboarding, training and professional development, exits, retention and performance reviews.

Regularly review All Our Kin’s workplace, policies and procedures, ensuring that these are all inclusive and equitable

5+ years of HR generalist experience or similar experience

Considerable experience with strategic planning, systems development, and implementation

A history of demonstrating discretion with confidential information

Experience with ADP Workforce Now, Google Suite and Microsoft Office

Training and presentation experience nice to have
