Portfolio Analyst Job at Angel Oak Companies – 2.2 in Atlanta, GA
Fundamental credit analysis to assess the risks of current portfolio positions and potential new corporate investments. Analysis to focus on macro environment and industry conditions, company business strategy and management, historical financial trends and future expectations, among other factors.
Investment recommendations across a range of account types. Each recommendation to be supported by financial model and written investment summary documenting the rationale for the investment. Ongoing monitoring of investments to include updates to financial models and written summaries of changes in fundamental factors and relative value considerations.
Source and trade regional and community bank bonds under the supervision of the Senior PM.
Assist in the underwriting of new issue and secondary regional and community bank bonds.
Track and monitor daily spreads/prices for all fund positions.
Write commentary and provide market updates.
Prepare portfolio monitoring packages for bank portfolio.
Monitor holdings and help identify buy/sell candidates relative value comparison.
Provide bond analytics, model portfolios, and presentations for prospective clients.
Relative value analysis of potential investments versus alternative investment options – both within and across industry sectors.
Maintain relationships with Wall Street analysts to facilitate the flow of credit and market information.
To assist the Portfolio Managers with reporting and other duties as necessary to meet client requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or quantitative analytics
2-3 years of relevant work experience (bank, asset management, investments, risk management, regulatory)
Familiarity with quantitative methods of data analysis, including Bloomberg
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Adept at Excel spreadsheet analytical development and utilization
3-5 years of relevant work experience (bank, asset management, investments, risk management, regulatory)
Advanced skills in quantitative methods of data analysis
Expert at Excel spreadsheet analytical development and utilization
Familiarity with financial risk models (market, credit, liquidity risk assessment and forecasting)
Strong report writing and communication skills
