The Opportunity

As the leading authority on hedge funds in Canada, the firm is at an exciting and innovative phase of its evolution. We are searching for a new Product Manager to lead the execution of product management (with an emphasis on fixed income), product analytics, and product development to drive overall growth in our business.

Responsibilities of the Role

Product Management Components:
Serve as a product specialist and a key link between the Investment Management team and the Sales team who service Investment Advisors and Institutional clients

Develop and execute product management and sales support strategies including but not limited to

Create and maintain portfolio manager presentations, product pitchbooks, and product sales tools

Write portfolio commentary, educational content (CE accredited) and other industry relevant content that can help position Picton Mahoney as a leader in alternative investments

Work alongside portfolio managers to create content for webinars and execute the production

Complete RFI’s, and DDQ’s, and collaborate to help build a comprehensive database solution

Work closely with marketing team to build product marketing campaigns and create marketing related content

Review monthly fund profiles, brochures, and web content to ensure all necessary data is up-to-date and accurate

Product Analytics and Development Components:
Provide detailed product analysis and comparison reports used as positioning collateral to our Sales partners

Proactively identify competitive opportunities by analyzing assets flows and competitive performance

Contribute to PMAM’s product strategy roadmap by conducting in depth industry research and analysis to help bring alternative solutions to market

The Qualifications and Experience Required

Minimum 8 years’ experience within the investment management industry

At least 3 years’ experience in Product Management (experience with fixed income solutions preferred)

Outstanding creative writing, communication and interpersonal skills

Demonstrated knowledge of common product management processes

Ability to cope with a fast pace, working environment

Creative problem solving, strong analytical skills and the ability to learn independently

Ability to partner effectively and collaboratively with other work groups and across functions

Highly proficient in MS Office (i.e. Powerpoint, Word, Outlook, Excel)

Experience working with Morningstar Direct required

CFA designation, MBA, or equivalent would be an asset (but not required)

Working verbal and written knowledge of French would be an asset (but not required)

Experience with coding would be an asset (but not required)

Friendly, approachable, discreet, and service-oriented personality while representing internal and external customers
