The role:
The F&A Programs and Governance Manager position is key to driving the overall success of Suncorp’s Finance & Advice (F&A) Function and the delivery of F&A 2024 Strategic Program. The role is incredibly dynamic and strategic in nature, requiring strong learning agility and the ability to interact with a diverse set of stakeholders to deliver great outcomes for the entire F&A Function.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to;

Develop an F&A 2024 Program delivery and governance framework – including operating rhythm, reporting requirements.

Drive effective F&A program performance and governance through effective use of the Enterprise Portfolio Governance (EPG) framework.

Take ownership and continually improve the standards and operations of the F&A 2024 Program rhythm.

Drive accountability of project/initiative milestones and centrally manage and co-ordinate status reporting for the F&A 2024 program and broader F&A strategic initiatives as required.

Be the central point of delivery experience knowledge, delivery tools and processes, as well as governance control under the EPG framework. Provide training and support on standard tools and frameworks

Review/attend and where appropriate lead post implementation reviews (retrospectives) and in[1]flight health checks on initiatives to identify key learnings to inform other projects and escalate recurring trends.

Supporting the planning and operations of F&A meetings, including the development and monitoring of the F&A operating rhythm (developing agendas, identifying information required, producing papers as requested, following up on actions items).

Maintain and continually improve the standards and operations of F&A meetings, by ensuring agendas provide appropriate focus on business performance, strategy and risk management in a timely manner.

Planning, preparation, and oversight of all critical papers, reports and presentations for F&A (i.e. Board and Board Committees, Business Planning, QPRs, ELT papers)

Skills & Experience

An Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business (or similar)

Postgraduate degree, and/or professional qualifications (i.e.Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA), Certified Practising Accountants Australia (CPA), or Master of Business Administration (MBA)

8-10 years experience within a medium to large financial services organisation, in a similar role or function.

Extensive business experience across a variety of business areas at an operational and strategic level.

Experience in being part of a senior leadership team within the financial services sector

Proven track record of thought leadership and change management – Proven track record in managing relationships with multiple stakeholders

Exemplary customer focus, together with an understanding of what factors deliver an outstanding customer experience.

Expert interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to understand the ‘big picture’ and build connections across different activities, issues, people and teams.

Expert written communication skills (including highly competent professional report writing), balanced with a high level of attention to detail.

Expert capability to drive deliverables across different teams and functions, including the ability to influence and negotiate outcomes and drive change in an effective manner
