Review Appraiser Job at US Assistant Secretary for Housing-Federal Housing Commissioner – in Santa Ana, CA

Duties

As a Review Appraiser, you will:
Conduct detailed desk and field reviews of selected URARs and analyzes all the information submitted for accuracy, supportability and consistency, and to ensure that, in each case, the appraiser has properly applied the current principles, practices, and techniques of appraising.

Organize, develop, and conduct periodic formal and informal training of Underwriters, approved appraisers and personnel from various trade organizations; also provides training and direction to less experienced staff in the Branch.

Advise the office’s underwriters regarding non-routine questions or considerations arising in their review of underwriting or in the course of their underwriting of HUD-processed cases.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:

  • Appraising Single Family residential properties; AND
  • Performing trend analysis, reporting findings and writing recommendations to management; AND
  • Completing desk and field reviews of Single Family property appraisals.

Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.

In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must have a State Certified Residential Appraiser License. (You must submit a copy of your current state license and certification to be considered. Failure to submit this required documentation will result in loss of consideration for this position.)

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
