Senior Analyst Financial Risk Job at ING Bank (Australia) – in Sydney NSW
It will also be responsible to translate Australian Prudential Standards (APS) into day-to-day practise in the bank, and deliver on regulatory risk measures for the inclusion in APRA reports. The team is responsible for the implementation of the new capital reforms.
In this role you will be required to enhance the regulatory compliancy across all portfolios by performing consolidated risk assessments, stress test, scenario analyses, climate change, resolution and recovery planning IC(L)AAP, Pillar 3 reporting and support the development and maintenance of the stress test models. Furthermore, this role will investigate the possibilities to deliver more synergies by looking at risk in an integrative manner.

What are you going to do? You’ll be…
Measure and visualise the risk in the balance sheet. Measure the balance sheet development against predefined trigger points.
Undertake portfolio analysis following guidance and recommendations from senior management. Monitor balance sheet developments from a risk perspective over time.
Develop methodologies to translate a scenario into risk measures like losses, capital for operational risk, market risk and credit risk.
Perform scenarios and stress tests. The effects of macro-economic trends are translated into effects on the financial risk position of the bank and potential reputational damage. Identify and quantify management mitigating actions in case of stress. Work with business and finance to achieve these outcomes.
Design frameworks like reverse stress tests and implement them in a robust manner for the bank.
Connecting the dots between the traditional risk types and look for synergies to achieve new insights.
Perform analyses for head office, senior management and regulator.
Complete risk sections of public disclosures. Drive automation and standardisation of these reporting processes.
Perform ad hoc analysis (both on request and independent) to identify Risk drivers behind the relevant portfolio and communicate it to all stakeholders.
What are we looking for?
Ideally 3-5 years’ experience in a risk analytics role or equivalent, preferably within banking/financial services
Master Degree or equivalent in economics, finance, econometrics, actuarial and/or mathematics.
Experience in stress test, scenarios and reverse stress testing
Experience in data analysis and data visualization, ability to analyse, understand and interpret data and coherently communicate the inference
Intermediate / Advanced SAS and SQL
Knowledge of risk management techniques and risk related regulations
Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.
Strong technical, analytical and problem solving skills.
Understanding of the importance of attention to detail and organization
