KPMG’s Public Sector Finance Transformation Advisory Practice helps organizations maximize efficiencies and drive business value across the enterprise. Our capabilities range from brief strategy assessments to end-to-end implementations of transformation, leveraging new finance operating models, cloud-based ERP technologies, intelligent automation, advanced analytics, and AI. We help our clients to strengthen and transform their finance operations by improving transparency, information integrity and governance with the finance discipline needed to drive business insights, and ultimately, positive outcomes for Canadians. Our Finance Transformation Advisory practice is seeking Senior Consultant level candidates to strengthen our Management Consulting practice in the Ottawa office. We are looking for a talented professional who brings a combination of finance skills, technology skills, and business acumen required to advise our Public Sector clients on transforming their Finance function.
What you will do:
Work as part of a team to deliver projects to improve or redesign finance by leveraging digital technologies, modern operating models, and new ways of working
Design and implement process improvements and systems supporting the Finance function.
Prepare reports and presentations for clients, and present to key client stakeholders.
Support the development of proposals and marketing events
Develop your consulting toolbox and sharpen your skillsets on a continuous basis.
Help foster an inclusive environment where colleagues feel they can bring their whole selves to work.
What you bring to this role:
A professional with 2+ years of relevant experience in financial management or back office finance processes.
A Chartered Professional Accountant, or have a relevant degree and experience in the operations of a finance function
Experienced working with public sector organizations, ideally federal government
Knowledgeable of end-to-end finance functional and technical architecture
Knowledgeable of some of the key technologies and systems involved in finance including data platforms/warehouses, analytics tools, EPM tools, robotic process automation tools, low code / no code platforms, and ERP systems
A self-starting, pro-active team player that is seeking to work in a dynamic environment, within a multi-disciplinary team
A problem-solver, with strong analytical skills and the ability to clearly and articulately identify and define problems and develop creative solutions to address client requirements
A strong communicator, both written and verbal (bilingual in English and French is an asset), with the ability to communicate with client stakeholders, and work closely in a collaborative team environment to develop project deliverables
Able to create engaging presentations targeted to an executive audience.
Candidates must be eligible to attain Government of Canada security clearance.
