Group Finance and Investment (GFI) is a trusted advisor to the Transport cluster, and partners with our stakeholders to make all financial and funding considerations for our once-in-a-generation $71.5 billion infrastructure program.

We currently have an opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to join Transport in the role of Senior Financial Reporting Accountant.
The role supports the preparation of the annual financial statements in compliance with the statutory requirements, monthly reports to Treasury and all other external reporting for a number of agencies in the Transport Cluster.
Coordinate the preparation of Financial Statements, Transport cluster and Treasury Reporting requirements to ensure they are compliant with accounting standards and legislative requirements.
Assist with the management of financial reporting requirements to ensure all internal and external objectives are achieved.
Participate in the provision of technical advice on financial accounting issues to the business as required.
Contribute to the monitoring of accurate reporting of assets and compliance of balance sheet accounts with accounting standards and Transport cluster requirements.
Input into the continual improvement of processes and tools to provide effective financial decision support to key stakeholders.
Provide ongoing reporting requirements to ensure compliance requirements are met and to ensure suitable management of priorities.

You are tertiary qualified (Finance, Accounting, Commerce or related discipline) with relevant industry experience, and full membership of a recognised professional accounting body (CPA/CA ANZ or equivalent).
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations and commercial accounting practices relating to government organisations
You are someone who works collaboratively with others and builds and maintains strong team relationships. The successful candidate will be committed to managing and prioritising competing demands and responsibilities in a busy and evolving environment.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Grade 8A ($120,423) – 8E ($134,872) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
