Senior Manager Risk and Control Enablement– Permanent Full Time

You will joining the Privacy EU Program Delivery team in this role and use your communication and stakeholder management skills to help the Program deliver change safely. The Program has several critical target milestones to deliver across the next 12 -18 months so will require someone to hit the ground running.

You will be responsible for leading and building capability of risk managers in the Privacy EU risk team to ensure all relevant functions are covered, from Control Enablement, Assurance, Strategy, Governance and Reporting. You will have accountability for driving a proactive risk and control culture, motivating and inspiring a team of risk professionals and reviewing and providing expert guidance to projects in the Privacy EU to ensure the program delivers a material risk reduction against Privacy risks across the group.

We are looking for an individual who is experienced in Project Delivery and the Risks that arise from the implementation of project related changes on the business to help us deliver the Privacy Enforceable Undertaking (EU) Program of Work across the Group.

The purpose of the role is to proactively and effectively manage new and changing business processes across the group, new technology projects and other non-financial risks providing associated insights, judgements and emerging risks related to the Privacy EU. This is a unique, strategic program of work that will give you a lot of exposure and visibility on a Group Wide scale.

A key responsibility for this role includes:
You will be expected to perform the following tasks in a manner consistent with CBA’s Values and People Capabilities:

Provide proficient, executive level reporting to the Privacy EU and Chief Operations Office Leadership team, Executive Committee and the Board.

Gauge and document the performance and effectiveness of Privacy EU Program and Business Unit actions achieved in meeting the Privacy EU.

Gather, organise and synthesize large amounts of information from various sources

Input and maintain data quality in various databases and monthly management reporting

Working the impacted Line of Business (Line 1 Risk and Line 2) and SMEs, to agree and document risk reduction against their Business profiles.

Effectively communicate with large a group of stakeholders, managing conflicts, issues and changes in order to ensure they remain engaged for the duration of extended projects.

Apply appropriate techniques to manage timelines for multiple projects and track progress of program milestones.

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
Financial services knowledge including strong technical skills and knowledge base in operational risk management.

Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills; ability to manage a large and varied group of stakeholders at all levels of seniority across Business Lending, Line 1 and 2 Operational Risk.

Sound understanding of ORMF and CRMF

Manage systems and data to reveal insights and to determine courses of action.

5-7 years’ experience in banking/financial services/other relevant experience, and/or minimum 3 years’ experience in Operational Risk management roles.
