An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Strategic Procurement Manager to join our Rolls-Royce Civil Business. The role provides a strong platform to develop commercial agility and leadership skills as part of a deployed role working on projects to deliver most value to Strategic Procurement. The flexible nature of it enables to lead activities within the four Strategic Procurement Categories (Raw Material and Forming, Design Make, Complex Machining and Finished Components) and engagement with Operating Business Units (OBUs) and Functions. Its breadth suits individuals who are comfortable working as part of a small or larger team depending on the project and can influence and deliver results where they may have limited background knowledge. Did you know that around 70-80% of a Gas Turbine engine is manufactured from other companies who ship them to us for us to build and test our engines? From parts that go on the engines, to training services, to IT, to buildings, to catering services, to consumables – the Rolls-Royce Procurement teams buy it all. Our Procurement teams are responsible for buying everything that Rolls-Royce can’t make itself. We create the procurement strategy, select the supplier, negotiate the best deal, agree the contract, and then manage the contract ensuring that we select a high performing supply chain. The performance of our external supply chain is critical to all of our business metrics. The Rolls-Royce Procurement team are central to Rolls-Royce’s success.

Key Accountabilities:
Evaluate insights including spend analyses, risk management/ mitigation, market research, category analysis, and sourcing event recommendations.

Action opportunities for cost savings delivering the biggest opportunities regardless of procurement category

Use expert negotiation skills to deliver value and leverage to contracts regardless of procurement category

Develop cost savings opportunities engaging with digital manufacturing, R2, engineering, etc. Implement these cost savings opportunities

Deliver the wider strategic procurement KPI commitments in line with agreed metrics

Mentor the team members that you are supporting and working with enabling high performing teams.

Ensure commercial negotiations are carried out in line with ATS and for ensuring adherence to functional processes and procedures

Key Skills, Qualifications, Experience:
BA degree or equivalent with significant industry experience.

Proven track record of delivering results.

Familiarity with purchasing and supply chain management.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Proven negotiation skills at senior levels.

Experience in influencing senior stakeholders.

Ability to deal with ambiguity.
