Underwriting Account Associate II Job at Zurich North America – 3.7 in United States

Responsible for evaluating exposures/controls, evaluating loss history, assessing financial condition, for the most complex business accounts including multi-national/local, package, portfolio or specialty policies. Underwriting authority is not granted.

Client Internally Focused – The job’s core deliverables rely on delivering service to internal clients, usually at the line manager or employee level. May involve sharing subject matter expertise to others in the organization or supporting others in their efforts to deliver on our promise.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Finance or Mathematics/Statistics or Insurance or International Studies or Geology and No prior experience required in the Administrative or Customer Service or Data Entry or Financial Services or Risk Management area

OR

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in the Administrative or Customer Service or Data Entry or Financial Services or Risk Management area

AND

Some travel may be required

Experience with data collection and analysis

Preferred Qualifications:
Underwriting/underwriting operations, claims, risk management or premium audit experience

Experience with data collection and analysis

Excellent customer service orientation and communication skills

In-depth knowledge of processing, rating and policy issuance systems

Detail oriented

Key Accountabilities

With advanced knowledge of underwriting processes, is fully conversant and works on multiple lines of business with variances requiring customized analysis using multiple tools and references.

Collaborates with underwriters in the areas of procedures, policy endorsements and policy content.

Computes premiums for policies, selects appropriate declarations, coverage forms, national/local forms, and optional endorsements to complete a policy.

Anticipates the needs of the Underwriter and the customer.

Actively participates in developing and executing account servicing solutions (e.g. subsequent transactions including endorsements, cancellations, reinstatement’s & adjustments, billing & collections, contract services and Claims & Risk Engineering) as needed to support unique customer needs.

Proactively partners with assigned Underwriters and participates in broker/customer interactions as appropriate.

Responsible for the new business, renewals and endorsements process for highly complex business.

Reviews, appraises and recommends submissions for acceptance or declination within established appetite.

Evaluates and summarizes exposures and controls both at the account level and at the Line Of Business level.

Evaluates loss potential due to catastrophe, severity, and/or frequency.

Assesses financial condition and summarizes financials

Applies rating knowledge to provide direction to Rating Services

Utilizes accumulated account analysis to provide Underwriting with data required for pricing decisions (e.g., debits/credits, risk characteristics).

Participates and/or supports Underwriting with broker/customer interactions and on-site calls with a planned and well-prepared purpose as appropriate.

Actively participates in developing and executing account servicing solutions (e.g. subsequent transactions including endorsements, cancellations, reinstatement’s & adjustments, billing & collections, contract services and Claims & Risk Engineering).

May assist in developing new team members and may provide support and coaching to peers, based on quality results.

Provides coaching and problem solving for complex transactions / issues while educating peers on the context behind the solution.

May support special projects as a subject matter expert.

Able to independently interact with brokers and customers in certain instances.

Able to provide training in certain instances to team members on systems, processes, and products.

Business Travel, as required

Maintain a Valid Driver’s License, as required

Mandatory Overtime, as required
