What You Will Do
As a member of the finance leadership team and The North Face’s Executive Leadership Group, you will have input to overall Brand Strategy, including Vision, Purpose, Positioning, Brand Essence, Business Model, Long-Term Objectives and Strategic Priorities.
You will manage the Finance function in the brand and lead in an inspiring way a diverse and talented finance organization in the brand. You will direct all financial analysis and reporting of business performance through strategic plans, the annual financial plan, monthly forecasts, and analysis of actual results . Leveraging your exceptional business and financial acumen and strong communication skills you will tell the story of business performance and results through numbers. You are accountable for business results, profit & loss, certain balance sheet and cash flow items, calendar adherence and executing against key initiatives.
You will report directly to the EVP & CFO of VFC; however, you will partner directly and significantly with the Global Brand President and be an integral thought partner to the entire Senior Leadership team.
How You Will Make A Difference
Develop a comprehensive, 5-year strategic plan to accelerate business results across multiple dimensions, channels, and horizons simultaneously
Lead a team of financial business partners and analysts to create annual financial plans and monthly forecasts, prepare analysis of actual results and communicate information to brand and corporate leadership, including opportunities and risk assessments, and channel level profitability with a specific focus on the direct channels of B&M and Digital
Support the brand to leverage digital and omni capabilities to enhance our consumer-minded and retail-centric business strategy
Understand and influence holistic impacts on the business model as a result of actions from Supply Chain & Logistics, Marketing, Digital & Technology, Human Resources, the regulatory environment, and other prioritized initiatives
Maintain strong understanding of market dynamics to adeptly identify and interpret leading indicators of performance
Utilize Direct-to-Consumer experience in both Digital and B&M to Impact performance across the channel by recommending strategic direction, optimized business models and operational tactics, and by delivering relevant and actionable reporting and analysis mechanisms
Prepare financial material for board meetings, earnings releases, financial and operational reviews with VFC, quarterly business reviews, VFC Investor Day, etc.
Partner with business leaders to evaluate investments and make choices in terms of capital, significant operating expenses, inventories, receivables, and headcount
Analyze reporting and influence decisions to control expenses and takes action to keep brand in line with financial plan
Oversee global product pricing and costing, to assess and improve profit margins throughout product line cycle
Develop additional business analysis or reporting as needed for management
Ensures brand’s proper internal control procedures and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and signs off on reliability of business unit’s reports
Years of Related Professional Experience: 15+
15+ years’ experience. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA or MBA preferred.
Successful and progressive experience in finance, 5-7 years in management of finance professionals in $500M+ business.
Individual must possess exceptional leadership and communication skills, along with an adeptness in strategic thinking, analytical skills, problem solving and attention to detail.
Must have a track record in establishing procedures, implementing processes, and getting things done on time!
Travel, domestically and internationally, up to 15% of time.
$216,000.00 USD – $324,000.00 USD annually
Annual Incentive Eligibility :
This position is eligible to participate in VF’s Annual Incentive Plan. Incentive Plan awards are contingent upon (1) achievement of your individual objectives and (2) VF achieving its’ Corporate and business level financial objectives.
Long Term Incentive Eligibility :
This position is eligible to participate in VF’s Executive Long-Term Incentive Plan.
