This role will be responsible for building and maintaining key client strategic relationships together with the Halifax team and all offices across Canada. This position provides for significant professional development and earning potential. Duties and Responsibilities:
Establish, create and maintain a network of key strategic contacts/resources to source potential new business opportunities for CMLS’ full range of business products;
Source new commercial real estate capital markets opportunities;
Demonstrate skill in financial analysis to determine borrower lending options for our borrowers;
Ability to negotiate to develop needs-based solutions and presents proposals to potential clients within CMLS objectives;
Actively seek out and share information regarding market changes and competitive activity that is utilized to develop key market strategies as well as legislative change;
Work with the Analyst team in completing mortgage presentations and pre-qualifications by assessing and preparing relevant information on borrower’s behalf;
Partner with the Analyst team to develop and deliver deal presentations to our credit committee with the ability to establish credibility.
Act as representative for CMLS, liaising with internal stakeholders and with external influencers to achieve growth of business and to build strong ties in the business community.
Skills and Qualifications:
You have completed an undergraduate degree in one of the following concentrations: real estate, finance, economics, urban land development, accounting or business administration;
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in either commercial mortgage sales or lending, or in acquisitions at a major Financial Institution or commercial brokerage firm;
CFA, CAIA or CPA charter holder or in the process of completing (considered an asset);
Fully licensed with AMF or OACIQ or have begin the licensing process;
Proactive and not reactive;
Proven ability to problem solve and manage conflicting discussions;
Possess an entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to provide flexible solutions to clients;
Experience with creating and delivering business presentations, including experience with public speaking;
Strong relationship management skills including the ability to establish and maintain a network of key contacts and resources in addition to attracting new clients;
Strong communication, influential and negotiation skills; and
You are a motivated self-starter who is very results driven.
